Admissions Information

INITIAL INQUIRY: Students who attend Chesterton Academy schools come from various educational backgrounds including classical schools, non-classical Catholic schools, home school, private schools, and public schools.  Children from non-classical backgrounds are typically able to integrate seamlessly into a classical model. To find out more about our school and to inquire into admissions, please complete our inquiry form, or you can call us at 770.635.0856 or email us at admissions@chestertonatl.org.

OPEN HOUSES: We invite you to attend one of our open house sessions held throughout the year.  Dates and registration information for open houses are posted on our website.

SHADOW DAYS: Interested families should schedule a shadow day for prospective students on one of the scheduled shadow days, or you can contact us at admissions@chestertonatl.org to schedule a private shadow day.

APPLICATIONS: Applications for admission to the ninth, tenth, and eleventh grades for the fall of 2025 are open.  Applications should be completed by January 31, 2025 in order to be notified of our admissions decision by late March 2025.  Application fee is $100 before February 1.  Application fee is $150 after February 1. Click here to apply.

INTERVIEWS: Once your completed application is received, our headmaster will contact you to setup a time to meet with you and your student for a family interview.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Chesterton Academy is committed to offering an outstanding high school education at an affordable cost to families. Because tuition does not cover the full cost of an education at Chesterton, families are expected to volunteer for our fundraising gala and prayerfully consider contributing to make this education possible for students from all walks of life. Limited tuition assistance may be available to families who qualify.  Applications for tuition assistance will be sent to those who request it.

STANDARDIZED TESTING: There is generally no standardized testing requirement for admissions.  However, we may request that your student complete the CLT8 exam if further evaluation is needed.

ADMISSIONS NOTIFICATION: Once all of the required applications and interviews have been completed, we will begin notifying students of acceptance to Chesterton Academy at the end of March.

*TRANSFER STUDENTS:
Chesterton Academy of Atlanta accepts transfer students on an individual case by case basis, in all cases, working with the student to ensure academic success.  Any student athlete transferring to Chesterton Academy of Atlanta must meet GISA interscholastic eligibility requirements.

*ACADEMIC PLACEMENT
The Headmaster determines the grade-level placement of students and works with students and parents to discern this and communicates the decision to the parents.  Occasionally, a student may be accepted or invited to the waiting pool at a level other than that for which the student applied. In this instance, the Headmaster has carefully considered the many aspects of the student’s profile – including their academic achievement and CLT placement exam, as well as the implications of alternate grade placement for the child’s future academic, emotional, and social life – and has decided that placement at another level would best ensure success at the school.
