Our Headmaster

Mr. Bettencourt resides in Kennesaw with his wife, Abby, and their three children, Francis, Patrick, and Mary Felicity.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Philosophy as well as Master of Arts in Philosophy with a concentration in Bioethics from the Franciscan University of Steubenville.  Additionally, he is pursuing a Master of Arts in Humanities with a concentration in Classical Education from the University of Dallas.  He previously taught at the Atlanta Classical Academy for six years.

The fact that Chesterton Academy of Atlanta seeks to begin each day with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass serves as a testament to the desire of maintaining an authentically Catholic environment for students to learn,” said Mr. Bettencourt.  “Moreover, having the opportunity to lead young minds closer to Christ and see the beauty of the Catholic faith through their studies is what I feel called to do. As Headmaster, I look forward to ensuring that Chesterton Academy of Atlanta provides its students, faculty, staff, and families with an authentic Catholic environment where Christ is encountered daily.”
